This Timber-Frame home is approximately 4,400 square feet consisting of living space, an attached garage, and shop area. The Timber-Frame home was constructed out of Douglas Fir and White Oak timbers with Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs) used as wall and roof panels.
Our office has engineered many homes and commercial buildings that utilize SIP construction. Timber-Frame construction uses mortise and tenon connections with oak pegs to lock structural members together. We detail each of these connections in our structural drawings.
